Hi everyone... havent checked here for some time... actually since christmas.. Anyway, just want to say, although with all the recent events that have been happening (u know the tsunami and earthquake), they may all just paint a very grim and devastating ending to 2004... Well, i guess geography can't be any more real than this can it? Coupled with the end of jc (the past two yrs have been great with u guys! :)), end of mediaworks and the start of NS/working life.... it just blows your mind
But hey, there's much more to look forward to right? Like we can always look at the brighter side of things... The first thing i felt when i heard abt the disaster was utter shock, but soon after (abt a few hours ago) had this feeling that we ought to be so thankful that Singapore was spared from its aftershocks, because of Singapore being so sheltered, because of our founder Sir Stamford Raffles who had such great foresight (Raffles rocks! haha :D), etc. Anyway, seriously, we really should feel thankful, but at the same time also sympathise with the Sri Lankans, Indians and Indonesians and the other countries which were affected... the death toll is unbelievable, and is still climbing..
We can also look forward to wild partying on dec 31st and jan 1st, and i feel sorry for many countries in our region for not being to usher in the new yr with celebration but with mourning.. We can also expect a more colourful and exciting new yr, as we make new friends and are exposed to new, totally different environments, and for the first time for many of us, welcome the sound of firecrackers in Singapore during Chinese New Yr...
So as we say our goodbyes to 2004 as it comes to a close in a few days, let us wait in fervent expectancy for 2005 to arrive with a bang! A new beginning, a new chapter... And i wish all u guys a very happy 2005! Hope to see u all soon! :)
